Upcoming UKACC events

Welcome message from

Dee Morris – Chairman

I am very honoured and humbled to be a Chair of UKACC this year. When my journey began in the industry many moons ago, I was very privileged to be mentored, guided, and supported by so many females I met along the way through my career. As the result I would like to dedicate this year to all the females within the Cargo industry. It is very important that young talented generation is joining our industry. As much as it can be a very stressful environment at the same time it is very rewarding to witness the end goals and results.

Regrettably all our finances are being stretched with utility costs rising to record levels, interest rates increasing and essentials of a basic food shop or the necessity of a holiday going up rapidly. Professionally we see widely reported volume softening and the rate levels hitting below pre-covid level. Majority of carriers are almost back to pre-covid schedules, which is pleasant to see the public and industry people back to travelling again.

As the year ahead looks like it will be another challenge, we more than ever need to keep our social connectivity and engagement with industry colleges. UKACC across the year will be having different events which we hope will bring all of us together for so much needed social interaction and fun. The events are already listed on the website, and we hope to see you all there.

Every year the Chair of UKACC picks a charity we do raise monies for. It gives me a great pleasure to introduce this year charity – Make – A – Wish ( www.make-a-wish.org.uk ). This charity is very close to my heart. Over 60,000 children in the UK have been diagnosed with a critical condition, changing their lives and the lives of their families forever. For them, the joy of childhood is brought to an abrupt end, with treatment plans, hospital visits and sleepless nights taking over.

A wish revives a childhood stolen by critical illness. It brings light and joy to children and their loved ones and leaves a profound and lasting impact on all their lives. Make-A-Wish receives no Government funding and so they are completely reliant on the generosity of people like you. The funds they raise allows them to grant the wishes of the desperately ill children that turn to them.

I would like to say a huge thank you for the amazing support and for all your kindness. Look forward seeing you all at our events and raising as much as we can to help ill children make their wish come true!
